Update from May 6, 2020

Hello SCAC Fit Fam!

Above all else, we hope this message finds you all safe and healthy and in good spirits. Following Governor Holcomb’s address, we have been working hard to put together a plan to ensure a safe reopening of our fitness facility in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations. Following these regulations, we have moved equipment to further enable social distancing, added additional sanitation stations for increased access to equipment and hand cleaning supplies as well as increased our efforts of equipment and surface cleaning with new commercial grade cleaning equipment and products.

Having said all this, we finally have the wonderful news we have all been waiting to hear, Tuesday, May 26th, after the Memorial Day holiday, will start Phase 1 of our reopening! We will be in touch with additional correspondence to explain in detail our multi-phase system of return to normal operation. In accordance with Governor Holcomb’s regulations, it will take some time for us to fully resume normal operations. Your patience and understanding during this time is very much appreciated.

We thank every one of our members for standing by us through this difficult and uncertain time. All memberships have been placed on a freeze for the month of May. No payment will be deducted. In addition, during our multi-phase reopening, all 24 Hour only memberships will have full access to our main facility until we are able to fully resume normal operations at our 24 Hour facility. If you have any questions or concerns, please continue to call us at 317-398-2582 and press #10 for our voicemail box. SCAC Fitness owners are checking the voicemail regularly and will return your call.

Thank you all again and we look forward to seeing your smiling faces again soon!

Update from March 24, 2020

Dear SCAC VALUED Member,

How are you doing during these uncertain times? This correspondence is two part. The first being, to check on you. As you know, our gym is not just a “gym”. We are a fitness family and we want you to know that first and foremost, we are thinking of you and your families’ well-being. Take care of yourselves, and each other. Stay in contact with us on our Facebook page. Tell us how we can continue to be a part of your family and keep you moving. We will continue to do our very best as we navigate this uncharted territory.

The second being, we want to thank you for the 31 years you have allowed us to serve our community in health and wellness. Unfortunately, out of an abundance of caution, early last week we were mandated to shut down until further notice to protect you, your family, and our team members. We are asking for your help as a small, family- owned and operated business. We want nothing more than to continue to provide you with exceptional services and programs; and in order to do that- we are asking that you continue to allow us to collect your payments until we receive federal reimbursement monies. At that time, we will gladly refund you in full or, at the end of your membership term, we will gladly extend your membership free of charge for the number of months we are forced to remain closed. We understand that times are hard, stressful and above all, uncertain. If continued payments truly place a financial burden on you, we are asking that you please reach out to us at 317-398-2582 and leave us a message. We ask for some patience and understanding during this time however, we will check our messages regularly and get back to you as soon as possible in order to discuss your membership payments and any other questions or concerns you may have.

We want you to know that, with your help, as soon as we are given the approval, we will be ready to serve you better than ever. We promise to keep you informed as often as possible and let you know when your fitness family can be together again! We look forward to seeing your smiling faces again soon and welcoming you back. Stay healthy and stay STRONG!

Update from March 17, 2020

SCAC Fitness pursuant to executive order, we will close our doors beginning tomorrow, March 17th at 8am, at BOTH our MAIN LOCATION and our 24 HOUR LOCATION, until further notice.

We will continue to work to provide you with daily remote workouts to keep you healthy, fit and motivated during this stressful time. Thank you for your continued support and we can’t wait until we see your smiling faces in the gym and our classes again!

Update from March 15, 2020

Dear SCAC Fitness Family:

As a part of your fitness family we are aware that we are much more than just a “gym”. We are a safe place that you have chosen to improve your health and well being. That often means more than just getting a workout in. That means socializing with friends and family and having a safe place for your children to play, grow and make friendships while you are working out.

For that reason, we don’t take lightly any decisions to suspend or cancel programs or services. We carefully consider how those decisions affect our members’ and employees’ lives—including their families, their ability to work and their sense of community—and we do our best to give you access to every amenity you could need.

However, in light of the extraordinary threat posed by COVID-19 (also known as the coronavirus), we have recognized that we must take some extra precautions to ensure the health and safety of our members, our program participants, our staff and our community. Therefore, following guidance from health officials and state and local community leadership, we have decided to take the following temporary steps, effective Monday, March 16 and lasting at least through March 30th, unless notified otherwise.

Silver Sneakers classes will be suspended until at least March 30th. Silver Sneakers members and other healthcare assisted memberships are more than welcome to use the gym as a whole.

Kids Club will continue to be available members, limited to 90 minutes daily. We must place a limit of 10 children in kids club at a time due to the close proximity.

Group exercise classes will be limited to a number of participants that allows additional spacing. At this time, we have agreed upon 15 max. Should additional space be needed we will consider lowering this to 12.

One-on-one programs such as personal training will continue without interruption.

Currently, there are no suspected or confirmed cases of coronavirus in our fitness family. We are thoroughly cleaning throughout the day and after closing. Special care is being taken by all staff members to keep our facility clean and safe. Staff are focusing extra attention on sanitizing high traffic areas and commonly used surfaces. We are also encouraging everyone to do their part in helping prevent the spread of germs and viruses through frequent hand washing, using hand sanitizer and our cleaning your equipment after use at our sanitation stations, and staying at home if experiencing symptoms.

Additionally, we encourage everyone to regularly check the CDC’s website for important updates and safety information. The American Academy of Pediatrics also has helpful information specific to children and families.

We hope that we can return to our normal operations as soon as possible and we apologize for any inconvenience or additional stress our temporary changes create for you. We ask that you bear with us as we do our part to ensure your safety and please feel free to address any questions or concerns to your General Manager, Christine Thorne
